Dale Truscott

Dale Truscott, D.Min.

Dr. Dale Truscott is enjoying a second career in university teaching and is happy to continue as an adjunct instructor at University of Central Florida. He has taught at Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, MI, Washtenaw Community College, Ann Arbor, MI, and is adjunct at Valencia Community College, Orlando, FL. He grew up and spent most of his career in Ohio, followed by ten years in Ann Arbor, MI. He has taken no stance on the Ohio-Michigan football rivalry. He moved to Orlando in 2007. He has taught introductory courses in World Religion, Philosophy, Ethics and Humanities. He is currently teaching HUM2210, Humanities 1. Dr. Truscott's concentration within the field of theology has been liturgics and liturgical theology. He is interested in the aesthetic foundation of the phenomenon of religion in human history and culture.

  • B.A. in Philosophy Honors from Wittenberg University, Springfield, OH (1966)

Awards

Dr. Truscott received two outstanding classroom teaching awards from Eastern Michigan University and the Cowan Fellowship Award awarded by the Department of Military Science at Eastern Michigan University. The award is based on a proposal relating one's field of study to an issue in national defense. He presented lectures on "Violence in Religion and Its Implications for American Military" to the ROTC cadre and officers.
